Baby Loves Disco - What A Party!

The first Baby Loves Disco event to hit Dallas was this past Saturday. For those of you not familiar with this event, check out the link under "Favorite Spots on the Web." I had the pleasure of being the official photographer for the event. I had a blast - but I gotta tell ya...I was exhausted at the end. It took a lot of energy to keep up with that many toddlers bustin' a move on the dance floor. Everyone looked like they were having a ball. And the kiddos were such a sight to see. We had glitz....

We had glamour...

We even had the Boogie Man!
These are just a few of the adorable shots from the event. If you were at the event, check back here for updates on when all the proofs will be posted and details on how to order prints. I expect to have proofs up within 2 weeks.

And don't miss the next event - July 26th. I'm sure it will be every bit the party that this one was!

One last note - a big thank you & congratulations to Kris, the host of the event. She did a wonderful job pulling everything together!

More From Shreveport!

Alex & I have gotten over to Shreveport quite a bit lately. It's been a great opportunity to catch up with family and friends, and, of course, do some portraits as well! The first two below were photographed at Norton's Art Gallery. The grounds around this gallery are absolutely beautiful! It's as if the landscaping had been designed with photographers in mind! Consequently, there are usually a ton of portrait sessions going on there, but on these two evenings, we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

First up was Noah - he was by far, the most cooperative 2 year old I have ever photographed! And I'm not just saying that because he is my nephew. (For those of you who know my sister, he looks just like her, doesn't he?!?) He went where we asked him to go, he did what we asked him to do, and it only took a few goofy looks from Pops to get him to smile! I think we finished his entire session in about 20 minutes - definitely a record!

Next, there was Maddie & those blue eyes again! She was so proud of herself for "finding" this big leaf. The police officer patrolling the grounds was not quite as impressed, though!

And finally, little Addison - the newest addition to my cousin's family. If I have my count correctly, I believe Addison makes the 12th grandchild for Aunt Sharon & Uncle Vincent. (Okay, someone in the family, pipe in on the comments below and correct me if my count is off!) She was such a sweet little thing! I was very excited to get to meet her!
I guess that about sums it up for the last trip to Shreveport - at least photography-wise! As much as we love Dallas, it is nice to get back to my hometown and catch up with everyone!

My Inaugural Post!

Well, I guess I've officially entered the new Millenium...I have a blog! The blog should be a fun place to visit. I'll share fun tidbits and stories from my portrait work, keep you updated on upcoming events and specials at KFP, and probably throw in a good dose of my own spunky 2 year old every now and then...her antics are always good for a laugh! Plus, I know how hard it is to wait two weeks after your portrait session to see your proofs (I promise I'm working as fast as I can!), so I'll also be sure to share some sneak peaks here - pulling out a couple of my favorites from recent sessions so you can see them in a couple of days instead of a couple of weeks!

To get the ball rolling, here are a few from a recent trip back to my hometown of Shreveport, LA. My childhood friend - we recently figured out we've been friends for over 23 years...that made us both feel old - brought over her three adorable kiddos and we experimented with my new gray backdrop.

Miss Maddie and her amazing blue eyes....
And Riley - adorable even in a cast!

Of course, Cole didn't partake in the pettiskirt fun, but he was still a good sport!
And then there's my own Alex. She's in this fun stage where she won't let me near her with a brush, so pardon the crazy hair!
